VINYL COVER
As part of my preliminary project I worked on the cover of a vinyl album together with a short teaser for the music video, for one of the songs included.
I decided to work on a vinyl cover, mainly because the previous year I had worked on a CD album for my AS preliminary task and thought that a vinyl and its teaser would be an appropiate alternative to practice for the Music Promotion Package, applying ideas that I would like to use for my final production.
I worked on it using a variety of programmes, starting with Photoshop in order to edit the photograph, then created the cover itself with InDesign and Illustrator and used a sample of a mockup in photoshop to elaborate a more realistic product.
In terms of inspiration I guided myself by similar albums of the same genre and tried to include their main characteristics and adapt them according to my own style and ideas.
On the other hand the teaser was more of an experimentation with certain editing techquinies I was unfamiliar with and would like to incude in my music video.
