EXPERIENCE

In general the photoshoot went well, we managed to take the style of pictures we were expecting, and the model was cooperative although the unfamiliarity to posing in front of cameras.

So at the begging it took some time to get genuine comfortable pictures.

The style ,compared to the shoot for

Nudity & Perspective, was completely different and to a certain more commercial and focused on clothing pieces that reflected the style of the model in the context of an interview.

Which is why in case of including the series of this pictures as an editorial for the magazine, we would like to include more creative aspects such as sketches or play with a wider variety of editing but still succeed in preserving the style of portrait photography gotten and the character of the model reflected.

In this case we did not manage to play with diverse outfits but we still changed and tried various backgrounds as you will be able to observe with the final edited images.

We are also working on a backstage video of the photoshoot which you will be able to find below as well as on the magazines Instagram page @detailed.jf, check it out.

Cameras used

 Elisa : Fujifilm x-pro 2

 Chiara : Canon 80D

When having in mind technical aspects,

we used the same lightening kit  as in the previous photoshoot, provided to us by an acquaintance, it was easier to take full advantage of it this time given that we had more practice.

EDITING

Regarding the editing process for this photoshoot, I found it easier and faster to edit this set of pictures, given that I learnt a lot from editing the ones for

'Nudity & Perspective".

What i found challenging this time was selecting the final pictures which would be included in the magazine. Since it was an editorial based on an interview of an influencer, we found it hard to represent and reflect our artistic perspective through such simple photographs, so when editing them we wanted to experiment more and improve their appearance to a higher extent.

We decided to divide the selection of images as done with the previous photoshoot, this was in order to manage our timing and work equally and more efficiently. Furthermore I used as editing softwares mostly Photoshop, I did experiment with Lightroom in order to see the differences between results but was more familiar and effective with Photoshops CS6.

I tried to perfection the skin and hair of the model, Horea, and improve the aesthetics of the picture in general based on the colour selection we had for the

magazine. By suing tools such as the healing brush and the patch tool, as well as the magnetic lasso tool to select and define the model as well as create a grainy effect in the background.

After all the pictures did not convince us enough to be included in the first double spread of the magazine, which is why we opted to use one of them for the back cover, in B&W in order for it to go in accordance with the front cover and keep the balance created.

But given our choice to continue and finish the production of this magazine, we will include many of the pictures taken in this shoot together with an interview with the model, which is why we put a lot of effort in order for the photographs to satisfy us and complement the magazine.

Below you will be able to see, by clicking on them, the whole selection of pictures I previously mentioned, in their edited form, by my colleague Elisa and I. Alongsides a fast forwarded montage of videos of the editing process for most pictures.
